ABOUT MOUNTAIN TSUNAMI II

On Friday, September 27, 2024, the eyes of the world were on the “hills and hollers” of the Appalachian Mountains as Category 4 Hurricane Helene dumped a colossal amount of rain on the mountains of Western North Carolina and East Tennessee.

For some people, Helene was a “hiccup” — an inconvenience in cell service for an extended weekend. For others, Helene was quite a “headache” as widespread power outages, blocked roads, and multiple landslides left many communities cut off from the outside world. For many others, unfortunately, Helene was an absolute “horror” as residents watched their homes, businesses, family members, and friends wash away in the angry, swirling floodwaters.

However the hurricane affected Appalachian residents, one thing is certain — they won’t soon forget the name Helene. This documentary-style book tells the true, raw stories of this momentous hurricane from various angles — the family members of the deceased, survivors, homeowners, business owners, pastors, and volunteers.

Through reading these stories, you’ll discover how Hurricane Helene altered the Appalachian Mountains — and its resilient mountain people — forever!

Note: 10% of all profits from the sale of this book will go directly back into flood relief in Western North Carolina & East Tennessee!
