More exciting Megan Shepherd book event news!
Last week, we announced that New York Times best-selling author Megan Shepherd was coming to downtown Marion, and y’all responded IN A BIG WAY!
That’s why we are excited to announce that this author/book event will be taking place at Golden Hour in the depot district of downtown Marion (48 Depot St.), where there will be ample space, plentious parking, and festive Christmas vibes. If you haven’t been in this beautiful space before, just go check it out right now and then come back here …
OK, you saw how amazing this space is, right?
Well next, we are announcing a very special private “meet and greet” with Megan Shepherd starting at 1pm for a limited number of people to get in before the crowd to get books signed and spend a little private time with Megan before the FREE public book event at 2pm!
While the main book event is still FREE, we are asking you to purchase a ticket in advance for the “meet and greet,” which includes entry for you +1 guest, FREE coffee at the event, a FREE Bigfoot Books & Brews tote bag ($10 value), AND a $5 discount on the price of the book ($15 vs. $20 at the event).
We are so excited for this event, and we hope it’s HUGE success so that we can help bring other (bigger) author/book events to downtown Marion, just like this one! Thanks for all your support and for helping to spread the word.
TODAY (Friday 10/24) we will actually be CLOSED because INSTEAD we are participating in the Halloween Pizza & Dance Party in the depot district from 4:30-7:30pm!
Get dressed up, gather the kiddos, and come find us inside the old train depot where we’ll be giving out FREE hot chocolate and FREE children’s books. There will also be FREE pizza, candy, face painting, and so much more! Don’t miss it.
Tomorrow afternoon (Saturday 10/25) we are celebrating Prison Banned Books Week with a special author/book event with Dr. Mac Marquis, co-editor of Books Through Bars: Stories from the Prison Books Movement, and Julian from Asheville Prison Books. Learn more and plan now to join us at 2pm!
If you are able to purchase a book or two to donate to the Asheville Prison Books program, we (and they) would be extremely grateful. Thank you!
