Asheville Prison Books is about to embark on the rare win-win-win fundraiser during Banned Books Week (October 4-10) and Bigfoot Books & Brews is pleased to announce that we will once again be supporting them. Asheville Prison Books has been sending free books to incarcerated people in the Carolinas for over 27 years! Books inside prisons are more heavily censored than anywhere else in the U.S. Many readers inside request dictionaries, self-help, how-to trade manuals, and a wide variety of fiction.

Here’s how the fundraiser works … Your purchase of books from Asheville Prison Books’s Bigfoot Books wish list goes to support Bigfoot Books, your local independent bookstore. WIN!

We send Asheville Prison Books those books, and they send them to an incarcerated reader free of charge. WIN!
